Mineral water founts


Muszyna is one of the few health resorts where mineral water may be drunk free of charge, as much as one wants to, both in water pump rooms, as well as, at founts which are in neighbouring villages.

Thanks to the low content of iodine and high content of magnesium and calcium, the waters from Stanisław and Józef intakes are recommended for complementing deficiency of the above-mentioned elements and for preventing hypertension. Bicarbonate – calcium – magnesium waters are recommended for urinary track chronic diseases and infections. They also support the treatment of diarrhoea, especially the one induced by stress, and digestive canal inflammations. They are also recommended during antibiotics treatment.

The available healing water has an intense taste. When it is drunk, metabolism and functions of many organs are improved. It enhances treatment of digestive system diseases, kidney and urinary track diseases, lower respiratory system diseases, rheumatic disorders, osteoporosis, obesity and some allergic diseases.

Hiking – expeditions to the mountains are largely popular at any season of the year. Tourists often diversify their trips when they exercise with the use of Nordic Walking sticks and when they put on special snowshoes during winter. The network of intersecting PTTK  and local tourist trails creates excellent conditions for hiking.

The most interesting views which are in Muszyna may be admired from:
- Viewing tower in Sensory Gardens (one a clear day, the Tatra Mountains on the Slovakian border are visible)
- The Donjon (ruins of Muszyna castle)
- Jaworzyna Krynicka
- Bacówka nad Wierchomlą (on a clear day, the Tatra Mountains on the Slovakian side are visible)
- Długie Młaki Clearing
- Malnik (on a clear day, the Tatra Mountains on the Slovakian border are visible)

Cycle tourism – wonderful mountainous areas encourage people to explore the countryside during the family cycling. Fans of cycling have four cycle routes of different degrees of difficulty and of total length amounting 86 km at their disposal. Less active people may hire electric scooters for rides through the health resort.

Turystyczna Pętla Muszyńska Cycle Route Length - 32 km, (asphalt 28,9 km, dirt roads 1,4 km, paths 1,8 km, uphill length 15,3 km,) the difference to overcome 538 m, maximal height on the route 831 m AMSL, minimal height on the route 446 m AMSL, riding time c. 3:25 h, red signs. The route has been designed for various interests of tourists. Nature and historic features interweave with contemporary elements of the region. It runs through Zimne and Dubne Ranges.
Pętla Wokół Kotylniczego Wierchu Cycle Route. Length 19,9 km, (asphalt 4,2 km, dirt roads 10,8 km, paths 4,9 km, uphill length 10,3 km,) the difference to overcome 678 m, maximal height on the route 1080 m AMSL, minimal height on the route 516 m AMSL, blue signs. The route runs through valleys of two mountainous streams in the area of Kotylniczy Wierch and Jaworzyna.  
Karpacki Szlak Rowerowy [the Carpathian Cycle Route: the main route]. It leads from Leluchów to Nowy Sącz through Muszyna and Żegiestów. Length 73 km, within the territory of Muszyna Commune 25 km (covered with asphalt roads along its whole length), red signs.
Transgraniczny Szlak Rowerowy [Cross-border Cycle Route] runs from Muszyna to Długa Mountain Pass in the Lower Beskids through Powroźnik and Tylicz. Length 71,5 km, within the territory of Muszyna 9 km (covered with asphalt roads along its whole length), blue signs.

Downhill – is intended for people who are avid for sensations and extreme rides on mountain terrain bikes. Muszyna territory is not lacking in areas for doing this sport. On Wierchomla slopes, however, there are two prepared routes which are of different degrees of difficulty. There are numerous faults, barriers and obstacles which make that downhill drives are various. Routes are also properly marked and secured. In order to get the peak, it is possible to use chairlift of Dwie Doliny Muszyna-Wierchomla Ski Station (on Piwniczna-Zdrój area).

Horse-riding tourism – a horse ride is full of unforgettable experiences both for amateur riders and experienced ones. Within the territory of Złockie, there is a horse-riding centre which offers riding lessons with the use of long line, unassisted riding and cross-country horse rallies. Children have ponies at their disposal. There is a riding-hall and a small obstacle course next to the stable. Apart from exploring the surroundings on a horseback, it is possible to go for a droshky ride.
